Anti-Principle Viruses

In the scientific sense "principle" is understood as a self-enforcing natural law that invariably produces predictable results which may be defined as truth. It has been correctly said that principles can be applied in the development of technologies. In fact, all technologies are the outcome of the application of discovered principles. The virus that goes to the very heart of the concept of "principle", is one that attaches the name "principle" to processes that have no relationship to truth except that of a lie. Thus we hear talk about a "free-trade principle" in political speeches. One must ask, is there really such a thing as a "free-trade principle?" Let us explore this question. However, before this question can be answered, another question must be explored first: "What is truth? Or what is the nature of truth?" In trying to find an answer, we find that truth is a difficult concept to pin down, because what is understood as truth today is merely a hypothesis about reality, which becomes superseded by a higher hypothesis when reality is more fully understood. For instance, the once accepted 'truth' that the earth is flat and is the center of the universe, became superseded by a more advanced concept of 'the truth' when the nature of the solar system began to be discovered. In this sense, the absolute of truth can never be fully known. However, we can know certain aspects of it as truth, by their effect.
