It is the nature of any fundamental principle to be ever operative, independent of time or space. Its effect is depended only on correct application, on the spiritual understanding that sets the stage for the underlying principle to become applied. The principle by which Christ Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead is, therefore, still as powerfully effective today as it was twenty centuries ago. It needs only to be utilized. A few people, throughout history, had the ability to do this. But why shouldn't anyone? The success, here, depends on what governs consciousness, whether it is understanding of reality, or illusion. Didn't Christ Jesus say, "and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free?" Shouldn't anyone be able to do this? So, what is truth, then? Pontius Pilate asked this question once in response to Christ Jesus' dissertation that truth is that, which he demonstrated by his healing works; which he was bearing witness of.2 Christ Jesus' works were manifests of the truth. What else could they have been? In the real world there is no magic or miracle. If the evidence, therefore, contradicts ones's perception of what is possible, the resulting paradox indicates that one's perception is wrong and the real truth lies elsewhere. Christ Jesus' works certainly were manifests of truth to the people who were healed by his ability. A blind man whom Christ Jesus had healed, once testified to the priests: "....One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see."3 Still, Christ Jesus said more about his work. He said, "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise."4 In other words, his work was in recognition of what he understood about the Father and His manifest as fundamental Principle. So, what then, did he understand?
