Civilization VirusesA rather nasty type of virus was created by certain fiction writers, notably H.G. Wells who fantasized about producing an atomic bomb with which to force the nations of the world to give up their sovereignty and subject themselves to a single World-Government.
This ideological virus was nurtured by Britain's Bertrand Russell who perceived this global World-Government to be operating under the British monarchy which was already the head of the world's largest empire at the time, an empire on which the sun never set. Russell realized that the creation of a type of World-Government could be achieved, that could be 'guided' to meet his terms. It would make the already far flung British Empire's dictatorship over humanity the absolute and supreme force in the world. Bertrand Russell also realized that the nations of the world would not readily surrender their sovereignty to this dictatorship. Therefore he, too, needed the nuclear bomb to be brought into the game to enforce his desires as H.G. Wells had so viciously illustrated, previously.
