Most people believe public opinion
to reflect reality to some degree. After all, it should
be logically impossible for everybody to be wrong. This
perception, unfortunately is a factor that has been sadly
abused, because the underlying assumption is false.
It is a fact of history that Germany's fascist dictator,
Adolf Hitler, who devastated Europe and terrorized the
world, came into power by means of the democratic process
with the support of public opinion. In the democratic
world, the political gambling with public opinion is
seldom a process of responding to public desires as would
be the ideal of democracy, but regresses into a game of
shaping or creating public opinion for the desired
outcome.
Under these conditions, which have become the norm in our
modern world, public opinion does not reflect fundamental
principles of truth, but reflects an array of 'politically
correct' illusions based on lies.
