The Cynicist-Terrorist Virus
Do I get any protests here? There should be protests forthcoming. Are not terrorism and cynicism world's apart from each other in their characteristic? Indeed, they are. Still, they are also tightly linked to each other, which is rarely acknowledged. In fact, the two are almost interdependent. One builds on the other. Terrorism builds on cynicisms and is designed to promote it, which in turn increases the cynicism. When a terrorist gang massacres a hundred people in a village on a street, which is usually done in the most horrible manner possible, disemboweling people, throwing babies against a wall as has been happening routinely in some parts of the world, one can be assured that the terrorists did not engage in these acts for the purpose of exterminating a few individual people. The evident goal is to mentally cripple an entire nation; to drive it into shock; to create the conditions under which the most horrendous sacrifices can be demanded from it, based on the promise that the pain will go away when the demands are met.
